About Us

Welcome to Inspire Learning! My name is Ilhaam. I’m a lifelong learner with a technical background in Engineering. I am also the founder of Inspire Learning and one of our full-time teachers.

As a high school student, I experienced my first foray into teaching: I spent over 100 volunteer hours tutoring at-risk-youth at my local community centre. I even got a special mention in a local magazine as a “future youth leader”. Even then, I knew that I loved to teach. I continued to nurture my passion for teaching during my time at York University, where I worked part-time as a private tutor, teaching both High School and fellow University students.

After graduating with my Bachelor’s, I interned with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, an organization that helps to empower African students by offering free post-secondary education. I had a short stint working as a Cyber Security Analyst, but quickly made the realization that teaching was my true calling. I knew that the best way to utilize my skills was to help educate the next generation of students.

I then began working as a private school teacher. My role required me to teach a wide variety of high school courses. I would teach course curriculum, create and mark tests and assignments, as well as grade final exams and grant students high school credits for their OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma). I continued tutoring students 1-on-1, assisting with homework and helping them prepare for evaluations. My extensive work experience allowed me to learn the Ontario curriculum comprehensively.

And so, I started this company – Inspire Learning – with the intention to provide students with the education that they deserve. We cater to individual students’ learning needs, allowing them to thrive and create positive learning habits that they can carry with them into the future!
